About Me

John Swygert: John Swygert is an independent writer, researcher, publisher, musician, and creative systems thinker whose work spans science, philosophy, humor, music, artificial intelligence, and human experience. His writing explores the boundary between serious thought and accessible communication, often using wit, observation, and lived experience to make complex ideas easier to understand. Through projects including Ivory Tower Publishing, Ivory Tower Journal, Downstream Of Everything, Upstream Of Everything, and related creative platforms, John develops essays, papers, books, and music that examine how people think, learn, communicate, create, survive, and make meaning. His broader mission is to build a lasting body of work that educates, provokes thought, preserves memory, and invites readers to look more carefully at the world around them. His work is serious, but not lifeless: curiosity, humor, resilience, and imagination remain central to everything he creates.
