READ ABOVE FIRST, PERHAPS, as it is reference herein, and may be more helpful framing the overall picture I am trying so hard to convey)

This is not the final draft, as I've had no time to edit but I wanted to share the ideas ahead of time. I hope you can read through the grammatical and spelling errors. Thank you

I reside in Cumberland Maryland.

We have a project where we have removed houses from the Rolling Mills area of the city of Cumberland. Who will invest in a city that does not invest in itself?

Our Mayor used the expression, "Be Bold, Embrace Change", which I originated and gave him permission to use although I did not know how he would use it as I did not ask.
I don't care for the idea of displacing members of our community, however, I do completely agree with the economic development that must thrust forward here in this city because we have been behind trying to play catch-up to no avail for decades since Big Industry completely left our area and left our area completely decimated. We have never recovered from this however with the current mayor we have made great, great strides. This is indeed still a steep uphill struggle. We are not unlike most small cities. The map across the United States where the heart and soul of our city have been completely gutted.

In 2011 I wrote about the United States Postal Service and have they just continue to bleed money and it goes unchecked and has for a long time. (Added: April 24, 2020 - the link below is my writing from 2011 !!! ... go read it... it frames what I have been alerting everyone too fr well over a decade, and here in writing, where I propose multitude ideas)

https://mountainmaryland.blogspot.com/2011/11/united-states-post-office.html

I am an out-of-the-box thinker and I like to suggest new ideas that a very often are adopted and my influence and several critical areas have been rather amazing in certain aspects and I am thankful that I have been able to contribute in some small way in different areas of this community that I love and to this country that I love.

I have an idea that can make the post office profitable and I call it a profit model.
It's quite simple.

We remake the post office so that it is the heart and soul of the community again where people will come for a donut and some coffee at the Starbucks that's located within, or grab a burger from the Five Guys burger portal or perhaps a taco from the Taco Bell portal at the food court and then you may sit in a nice area where there will be free Wi-Fi.

We have a post office that's given every benefit of the doubt when it comes to finances and it seems that they must be abusing those benefits because they have not been profitable and indeed they do absolutely cost the taxpayers money, which has been a huge point of argument. When Congress offers them 18 billion dollars and a fiscal year where do you think that money comes from? There are many ways that our tax money eventually helps the post office, yet still, this burden that they are is a sinking ship that never seems to be able to float once again.

We have a behemoth of a business that is sitting on properties all across this country that could be making great amounts of money because the land that they sit on his valuable.

They don't always own that land, this is true, but in either situation where they own the land or they're leasing the land, the building in which they conduct business can be completely remodeled or torn down and reconstructed so that there can be a center of each community that offers food coffee free Wi-Fi the huge seating area for socializing, studying, or reading while consuming Foods or just to sit and socialize with friends unencumbered by the time restraints and these new models could be making a profit because they would have business Endeavors with the companies that would come in and rent the food portal areas for the coffee areas or maybe the gift shop area, use your own imagination.

When the post office is bleeding money as it has for so long why would a model that would guarantee profit being neglected?

I have written about this in 2011, one year after I was published by the United States Department of Energy.

https://mountainmaryland.blogspot.com/2011/11/united-states-post-office.html

I was published by the United States Department of Energy because I had a model that would give the United States of America I guarantee on energy Independence as well as a model that would make us better stewards through this "Green Era" as well as facilitate the ability to change marketplaces as we embrace all the ways the best of modern of Technology in the energy sector and carefully incorporate that into more and more efficient designs. Nobody else had articulated precisely what I did the way I did and it was truly rather simple, not very different than what I am saying now.
Sometimes, you have all of the parts sitting around but nobody knows how to put them together in a complementary fashion and we need to be bold in a bracing change when we take the steps.

In Cumberland, Maryland the Rolling Mills Area is just a stone's throw from where the United States Post Office area is and that post office area sits on a huge piece of property. That piece of property can be utilized in much more profitable ways, such as perhaps building more modern high-rises to accommodate the people that have been displaced, such that it could make an offering to make them each whole, at least those that have held out thus far. I hate the idea of people being displaced from their homes, however, I would walk away from my home if I was offered something that was fair and made me whole as the saying goes. I say that only on the condition that it would be the best for the city, the community in which I reside.

I am excited to watch the Rolling Mills Area develop into something that will be an economic Boon to our community but not just to a few select people, but rather many people that will want to conduct business in the brand new facilities that are built on that property.

The USPS could demolish the building that they are in currently on Park Street in Cumberland, Maryland and do likewise where they could follow my suggested model and instead of having nothing but liabilities to maintain their building to conduct business in, they could have an asset that would produce money when people would lease the different facilities that would be built on that property, where that square footage would be used much more wisely.

Again, it doesn't really matter if the post office owns that property or if they lease it, because the person that owns the property if indeed it's owned buying individual or even a corporation, could likewise develop a new facility in the way that I suggested my simple model.
Why shouldn't the United States Post Service become landlords or leaselords for companies that want to do business in these new modern facilities? There would be free Wi-Fi and a great social gathering area and many different types of businesses where you could either eat perhaps, or buy gifts perhaps, or whatever you can imagine.

I hope that these thoughts will be considered than they are today and only help to ensure that they continue to provide the excellent service that they do to the citizens of this country at such reasonable rates and with such incredible consistency through all types of weather.

The United States Postal Service has the perfect opportunity to demolish the store or building that they are in currently on Park Street in Cumberland Maryland and do likewise where they could follow my suggested model and instead of having nothing but liabilities to maintain they're building and conduct business, they could have an asset that would reduce money when people would least the different facilities that would be built on that property, where the square footage would be used much more wisely.

Over the last several decades we have watched the smallest of post offices disappear off the face of the map and that to me is been a big mistake, as again the post office is not just a post office sometimes it is to a greater degree a social aspect of communities that are overlooked and small-town America has been gutted heart soul and all, and this model could provide one opportunity, where many are actually needed, to start mending the fabric of this model could provide one opportunity, where many are actually needed, to start mending the fabric of these communities across the country.

My suggestion might not be perfect but I feel a hundred percent positive from a business point of view that it would make perfect sense and instead of the post office continually bleeding money, just absolutely hemorrhaging billions of dollars, they could turn the economic corner.
