Tired old ideas have got us here. A lack of Maintenance has got us here. Poor stewardship has got us here. I'm talking about for decades these three things above and a plethora of other factors I'm not talking about the last decade. This place has been on a steady decline since the 80s when the big corporations left and everybody's still whining and crying but I don't see a community Spirit coming together like it should and I really wonder why... but when you've been beat down so long what's going to make you jump up all happy joyous and free to pitch in?
It would be nice for us to catch some big fish in reel them into our area, but fish don't survive in pollution. ;(
To counterbalance my extreme negativity but realism perhaps somebody can make some positive suggestions that would really make a difference and don't bother wasting your time on this thread, write a letter to your local state and federal politicians, as that is the way to be a catalyst to get things done quickly. Publish those letters on your blog and tell those who you write that your letters are going to be published into the public domain for all to read and that you expect an answer in a reasonable amount of time and be fair and be literate and don't be ignorant and try to use far less negativity than myself herein. I do write tactfully when I have to address certain measures however this is Facebook and what I am trying to do here is provoked out of the box thinking and hope that perhaps we can lift this spirit in this city upward because really how much longer can we go on like this?
This is the same link the article begins with, if you did not read this article please I urge you to do so now.
Furthermore here is the original article stating that we were losing 80000 gallons a day of raw sewage in this was published back on October 6, 2017, and now to January 8th 2018 !!!
I'll do some math for you and we'll see how much raw sewage is being dumped into Will’s up Creek since then
3x80,000=240,000
Thus far that's a quarter of million gallons of raw sewage !!!
We don't even know how much or how long it was leaking before that and who knows what else it's contaminating.
They spray raw sewage all over the Flatlands at at Mexico Farms too and they truck that in from out of the area… isn't that nice !!! This is also something else I have inquired about and had absolutely no answers on. I trust our County Commissioners are doing their due diligence and looking out for us but we all too often Trust our politicians and find that they are not serving us well and my concerns there are what type of airborne particulants might we be exposed to???
Hopefully these problems are solved very soon, but not nearly soon enough!
I just can't understand how it's not possible that we don't get an emergency relief Grant from the federal government of some way shape or form or from the state in order to remedy these problems immediately as we're only doing much much greater long-term damage that has incalculable costs and that could be directly affecting you and me and your loved ones right now, as we live in an area where it seems cancer and other illness are just proliferating. There has to be some causative factors in this is certainly something that needs to be examined, for you can tell me that this is not hurting our population’s health and well-being?
It sure doesn't look good for the city when perspective corporations look at our area to call their new home, that's for sure, and I don't know how we're going to build any kind of tax base ever when we can't even take care of ourselves here at home and we don't seem to have everybody on the same page looking towards those greater goals to be achieved that will enable us to do so soon.
