The flicker of the flame dances wildly,
In the pitch-black center of my mind's eye.
Titillating my deepest inner senses,
A journey into unchartered depths.
I feel so alive deep in my soul,
All that matters is this...peace.
Tingling...Reeling...senses,
Life in my soul....Akin too a massive party.
Every sinew...alert,
Waiting for perception...
Anticipating new hair raising sensory input,
The candles fuel this spiritual journey.

Reeling Fish - My Original Poem
The drag makes you struggle,
Hook in your lip,
Your energy is short.
You leap into the sun,
Hoping only to break free,
Glimmering sunlight on your scales,
As you crest the watery heights.
Waiting for your chance at freedom,
You jump from the water thrashing,
The sunlight offers hope,
The hook still holds you tight.
As the rodman sees you glimmer over the sparkling water,
You break free, such a fight,
It was a challenge on two facets,
And now you both are spent.
You may meet another day,
Such a joyous trout,
And a man who had a glimpse,
Fishing soothes his soul.
Until it's time again,
A rainbow teases man.
My original Poem / Lyrics Colours
Colours, appx 06 2008...by: John S. Swygert
Do you ever ponder on a tie dyed twisted plane,
Of the colours that your life has portrayed,
And what colours might have been,
If those colours you did not trade?
Life's palette, oh so delicate,
This life's tapestry that we boldly paint and blend,
Deciding for more green than red at a moments notice,
Where and what path did we our life send.
Life's canvas never erased, we continually brush with new and enlightened strokes,
We may embellish or conceal the encounters that lay beneath,
Irrevocable in obscured memories later to cascade forth,
Or forever buried, perhaps never able again to be reached.
Arbitrarily we cover the colours that run like blood through our veins,
And paint and blend the colours that hurt and cut like a knife,
Then paint some more bright irridescents that tame the savage beast,
These varigated chromactic whispers that help leave behind the strife.
The communal canvas, let your eyes upon it gaze,
The colours erupting from my multifaceted soul spread deep,
Nothing to hide the colours, they are often worn on my sleeve,
From conscience to canvas not contained, they often seep.
Artists that know me as a confidant partake what I perceive and savor,
We feel and share the momentus synaptic pleasures of this life,
Striving to illustrate and blend the opaque and oblique,
Seasonings of vitality are what we ration and seek.
Asking others to come forth and blend their hues freely,
Innately knowing what it is that the canvas demands of us,
Assimilating new techniques from others, often with such acute cost,
Perhaps mesmerized by the colours they offer, we too undeniably trust.
Contributions to the masterpiece come from experience,
Pallets dirtied always cleaned, new pigments often sought,
Never a simple masterpiece just engineered at a glimpse,
Jewels improvised continually, over eras and never wrought.
Colours are what illustrates life's experience,
The roads we travel are so varied, meant to be lessons learned,
Make each day your masterpiece to yourself and your brethren,
A good life is nothing casual, but rather through hard work earned.

My Poem: "VIBRATING UNIVERSE"
life is vibrating at greater speed
traveling through the fabric of space
harmony is all I can see
such a groovy place
sun shines bright
bathes and soothes us all
wake on springs wings
never fall
it's loves that sets us free
then peace will follow behind
breathe it all in
now it is the time
the calling shatters silence
airwaves do abound
hope you to are listening
what a beautiful sound
tune in and listen
pureness ringing all around
souls on a mission
resonating sounds
its love that makes us quiver
frequencies in harmony
we are lively souls
spread your wings be free
it's loves that sets us free
then peace will follow behind
Breathe it all in
now it is the time
The calling shatters silence
airwaves do abound
hope you to are listening
what a beautiful sound
My (very old) POEM / LYRICS "SINSICK"
SINSICK OF MYSELF......
DEEP IN MY BLOOD FILLED VEINS......
TWISTED DELIGHT ICECREAM......
NO FLAVORS LEFT......INSANE
THIS PEN HAS LOST ITS WAY......
I'M SINSICK OF MY THOUGHTS......
BECAUSE MY SOUL I SOLD......
SO CHEAPLY I WAS BOUGHT?
CHORUS:
MY SOUL ON THE BLOCK......
I'M GOING DOWN
I'M SO FUCKING LOST......
I'M GOING DOWN
HELP ME PLEASE......
I'M GOING DOWN
LAKE OF FIRE CLOSER......
I'M GOING DOWN
MY BRAIN IS CRAMPPED, I AM BRAINDEAD.....
OUT OF NEUROLOGICAL TIME.....
THIS MYSTICAL INK NOT CROSSING THIS PAGE.....
HAS NARY LEFT ANY REASONS OR RHYMES.
STUCK IN STILLNESS......
SILENCE IN THIS SIMPLE MIND OF MINE......
TRAPPED WITH NO DIRECTION IN SITE......
LOOKS LIKE I AM OUT OF TIME.
SPIRALING IDIOTIC STUPIDITY......
IGNORANCE RUNS DEEP.....
WHAT HAS HAPPENED NOW......
ETERNAL THINKING SLEEP.
CHORUS:
MIND IS WARPED......
ANOTHER PLANET
ALL IS ALIEN......
ANOTHER PLANET
SENSELESS QUAGMIRE
ANOTHER PLANET
NOT A SINGLE CLEAN THOUGHT
ALL IS BLACKNESS
WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT......
AM I NOW A DARK CREATURE OF HIS.....
HE PAID SO WELL, SO THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT.....
AND NOW I AM ON HIS BLACKLIST.
WHY AND HOW, I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT......
DID I GET TRICKED AGAIN.....
IT ALL LOOKED SO GREAT, I TRUSTED THE SURFACE.....
I BOUGHT INTO THIS PLAN OF SIN.
CHORUS:
I'M RESPONSIBLE......
ALL MY FAULT
MY OWN TRAGEDY......
ALL MY FAULT
SELF INSANITY......
ALL MY FAULT
ME...... MY NIGHTMARE.......
ALL MY FAULT
WHAT A MISTAKE ! I'VE BEEN SINSICK
DEEP IN MY BLOOD FILLED VEINS......
TWISTED DELIGHT ICECREAM......
NO FLAVORS LEFT......INSANE

The Day Stevie Ray Vaughn Passed
I was driving down route 236 (Little River Turnpike) in Fairfax, Virginia on my way to college at Geore Mason Unniversity. I was listening to DC101, as I have all my life and still do when visitng the area. A news brief came on the air and said we may very well had just lost Eric Clapton in a helicopter crash. I was in shock...I knew he was a legend...however I had not yet studied Clapton in depth. I had as a matter of fact just gotten his latest release "Journeyman" and absolutely loved it. I was in shock. That may sound silly, but I am a musician and absolutely love music. We just lost a living legend so I thought. How tragic. A short time later after the first announcement, a secon announcement said that Eric Clapton was just fine...I sighed in releif. Then it was stated that Stevie Ray Vaughn had perished in the helicopter that had crashed, along with several others. Talk about a double kick in the guts. Man what a way to hear such tragic news. Needless to say I never got to see Stevie Ray Vayghn perform live, and I did not miss my first chance to see Clapton live. It is times like this when I step back and think...well...thanks God for giving us Stevie and his legendary music. One day I will be at that great concert in the sky and I will play with him there, and for that I can wait. That eases my soul knowing that. So...Thanks Stevie Ray for great tunes. Cmment on what you like, however, if you remember where you were and what was happening when you heard...state that here. It is an idelible impression in my life.

POEM - WTF
Perhaps this is babble you say,
He molded us with clay,
Gave us a beautiful day,
Which we chose to give away.
The age of understanding is here,
He makes this abundantly clear,
Babble in the past, we communicate with ease,
Matters not that you speak English or Chinese.
Arizona is lost, Korea to war?,
England and the US are both kind of sore,
BP, well…sux, assholes and liars I say,
The New Orleans Marsh on death’s bed lay.
Chorus:
It is time to come together,
Cut the binds that have us tethered,
Do what’s right and save each other,
In the end all you have is one another.
Did you see the Earth Quakes,
Already old news,
Thousands starving,
What are we to do?
Tornados are coming now,
Hurricanes follow suite,
I heard about a volcano,
Was that a week ago or two?
It time speeding up,
Is that comprehensible,
I know that its happening,
Its just that is not sensible
The Space Shuttle just flew it’s last flight…WHAT ???
How does that make any sense,
Seems kind of odd that we designed this for decades,
And now its simply good riddance?
But either are any of these things coming next,
Words are beautiful things once written with text,
Sentences they make and create fluid thought,
Only love can share what simply can’t be bought
That is all the wisdom we need on this earth
Sin should not have a right to live here
But borders we draw and things we must own
And at each other we curse
Check out my recent news
Google and wikipedia will do,
You ought to take a look,
Hard to take my word for true
This has all already happened,
So open up your eyes,
Perspective places a truer image upon your mind,
So we can all stop living all these lies
An empty Russian ocean,
We needed water instead over there,
Did we not learn anything from Mother Nature,
Act as if we just don’t care.
One day near Cumberland we had some snow,
The next is was gone as it was to warm to stay,
The 60 mile per hour winds just whipped it away,
Then came the sun an it nearly reached 90 the following day.
In Colorado one beautiful evening it was a sunny 55,
The sunset, as we car traveled 50 miles back to Beaver Creek,
Whence, suddenly it was snowing and blustery all over the street.
Only halfway back, a blizzard we were now in, a windy 13 degress.
Clear cut forests and strip mining,
do not a graceful landscape make,
We continue to spread this disease,
Across our Earths so pretty face.
Earth above has no apostrophe,
For one can not own her,
She is free in whimsical flight,
Enjoy, sit back, observe.
Where I am there is no war,
We see rainbows all the time around here,
We live simple lives that are balanced being beautiful and tough,
But what we have, we are not greedy, we share
Sure a personal skirmish may happen,
But we are here to set them straight,
Because when we work together,
We all walk towards Heavens gate
We have lush forests still, even some old growth now rare
We have Appalachia in us because we keep it everywhere,
You cannot take it from us because it’s in our soul
These mountains provide and protect and hold us all so well.
Only chosen people can find us,
But everyone is welcome to come,
Just look for us in the mountains,
We’ll be expecting you , you’ll meet the Son.
